The Verdict Is In On Burt

My first blog on WordPress was about product testing for Burt’s Bees and BzzAgent. After a month of using the new hydration line, the campaign is now coming to a close. Here are my final thoughts on their product.

4 out 5 stars.

I enjoyed the time I got to spend getting to know some of the products in Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line. I was sent the Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser, along with the Intense Hydration Night Cream.

While some have commented that the scent of the Clary Sage wasn’t their favorite, I quite enjoyed it. It embodies the 99% natural ingredients. It helped add to the fresh feeling left on my face. Both the cleanser and cream were particularly thick, but you wouldn’t know it after applying it to your face. It did a great job of soaking into my skin and didn’t leave a greasy feeling in the slightest.

My first blog review talked about my first night with Burt … actually, my first morning after using the product. I live in Northern British Columbia, where dry skin runs rampant! I was hugely impressed that I woke up to a fresh face with zero dry flakes! However with any product, it is the test of time that is the huge tell all. My second and third mornings were not as spectacular. I woke with my usual dry bits on my face. My excitement for the product was slightly reducing. But still I carried on.

I could just be a product of my environment. I’ve lived in 4 different provinces and 6 different cities in my time and my current city is by far the driest! No matter what I do, I dry up! I think many of us up here, suffer the same thing.

I also think this product campaign would have done much better if we were additionally sent the Day Lotion. That’s when most of us are out and about and it’s probably the most important time that we want our skin looking good. If I got to try this product, along with the others that were sent, I’m going to assume that this would have been the perfect skin package!

I stopped diligently using both products in the evening together when the results started to decrease and slipped back into my regular skin routine, as I had to look my best for work. I did continue to use the products separately by using the cleanser during my morning showers and the cream during the night. I still wanted to give these products a fair shot.

Bottom line, I do think this is a good product. It does hydrate, it does leave your skin super soft and I like that it has natural ingredients. It’s also very affordable compared to it’s rivals on the market. I know that others have had incredible results with the Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line, so I do encourage others to try … but I would probably also go for the day cream, just so you have 24/7 protection.

This was a great experience. I enjoyed testing and sharing Burt’s Bees with my friends! I’m going to continue to be a Burt’s Bees supporter! Image

My First Night With Burt

intenseHydration

In my previous post, I discussed getting my Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration trial kit. I was really excited to get started, as the North is very hard on my skin in the winter!

Before hitting the pillow last night, I washed my face with the Cream Cleanser. The packaging indicates it is great for getting rid of any dirt and makeup. I did however, use an additional eye-makeup remover, before applying the cleanser, to take off my liner and mascara. I found the cleanser to be very creamy and smooth. The scent of the clary sage was very pleasant and natural. I also didn’t need a ton of the cleanser to wash my face and used a dollop the size of a quarter. Washing it away with warm water, my skin was left feeling fresh and clean.

I then applied the night cream. I found it to be very thick, but it quickly soaked into my skin and no film was left behind. Like the cleanser, the cream is infused with clary sage and smells just as good. I was excited to go to bed just so I could wake up and inspect my face this morning. That would be the true test!

I don’t know about any of you, but my face is super dry when I wake up! Either I’m making out with a pillow made of sandpaper all night or I’m sleeping in a freeze dried vortex … but I look scary come the morning light! I’ve recently been trying numerous facial products to get rid of my nasty dry face, ranging from Garnier to the Body Shop but they don’t seem to go the distance. The dryness just keep coming back!

However this morning after my night with Burt’s Bees, it was a different story. My face looked great! It looked just as fresh as when I went to bed! I then went and showered, got dressed for work and had to moisturize with my regular regime. Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line does have day cream, but it wasn’t sent with the the trial … which is a shame because as soon as I put my make up one, the dry flakes started to pop up. So I dabbed a bit of the night cream over the rough spots before heading out the door. So far, so good!

Overall, for day one of trying the product, I’m remaining optimistic. I’ll be following the same routine tonight with cleanser and night cream. I’ll check back in during the next couple of days to update how the Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line is working for me.

Have a great day … and stay hydrated! If you’d like to know more about these products, stop by their Facebook page to learn more.

Product Testing: Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Line.

Day One:

I just got my first assignment from BzzAgent in the mail today: Burt’s Bee’s Intense Hydration Line! It came with a vial of their Night Cream and a bottle of Cream Cleanser, both made with Clary Sage. It also came with 10 sample packs of the Night Cream to share with friends!

Some of the listed benefits include:

  • Intensely hydrates dry skin
  • Helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Enhanced with Probiotic Technology
  • It’s 99% natural

I’m really excited to start trying the product. I live in British Columbia’s Northern Capital, Prince George … so it’s super dry up here! No matter how much I moisturize my face in the morning, I always have dry skin flakes on my face … and usually before I even get to work! It’s annoying and embarrassing!

Follow me on my skin journey, as I try Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Line over the next 42 days! Drop me a line if you are interest in trying a sample of their night cream and let me know what you think!Image
