Skip the Coffee Line Up, Stay Home With International Delight Iced Coffees!

Caffeine … it’s a girl’s best friend! It kick starts ALL of my mornings! That’s why I was really excited to product test for BzzAgent and International Delight Iced Coffees! I think this has been one of the funnest campaigns to be involved in so far, as well as one of the most conversation worthy!

My java-filled BzzKit included nine FREE coupons for International Delight Iced Coffee — three so I could try each flavor, and six to pass along to friends. They also sent me two awesome International Delight Tumblers … a quintessential for summer sipping!

International Delight Iced Coffees come in 3 flavors that any joe lover will enjoy. There’s Vanilla, Caramel Macchiato and my personal favorite … Mocha! Made with100% premium Arabica beans, real cream and milk; all you have to do is shake, pour over ice and sip! This simple frosty treat is sure to please your taste buds as well as your wallet!

Stocked in the dairy or juice aisle of most grocery stores for a suggested retail price of $4.99,  you get  an entire 1.89L carton! That’s approximately .60 a serving! You’d probably pay five times that amount for ONE iced coffee at your local cafe! Plus you get to skip the line ups, grumpy customers and wrong orders!

Besides giving out the FREE coupons for friends to enjoy, my favorite experience of this campaign happened at Walmart when I was picking up my own samples. I was in the lineup waiting to pay, when the girl behind me saw the cartons in my cart. She asked if they were on sale. Why else would any normal personal have 5.67 liters of coffee in their cart!? I told her that I was product testing for BzzAgent and International Delight Iced Coffee. I then remembered that I had the coupons in my purse and asked if she would like to try one for herself. She was really excited and thankful. Getting her mother to hold the place in line, she dashed off to the dairy section to get her own FREE International Delight Iced Coffee to take home. She thanked me profusely for sharing and it made me feel really good. I got to talk up International Delight as well as all of the benefits of being a BzzAgent. I really enjoyed that!

I’m normally a black coffee drinker, but these flavored Iced Coffees are really tasty! I think the only downside to the product is that 1 liquid cup has 160 calories … which you drink really fast because they are that damn good! I don’t have the metabolism of a twenty year old any more, so I do have to act like it is a treat. But we all deserve one of those once in a while!

My rating for International Delight Iced Coffee is 3 out of 4 stars. I would recommend it to anyone that likes Iced Coffees and I will surely buy this product again. It’s great to share with friends on the patio all summer long! It also goes really great with vodka … for those readers that are of legal drinking age!

The Copper Pig Bbq & Social House

Last night was my second visit to our city’s newest downtown restaurant, the Copper Pig BBQ & Social House. While the whole BBQ experience is a standard subculture for our American neighbours, it finally making a more dominant mark in Canada’s cuisine … and I love it!

I’m very proud of the wonderful plethora of locally owned, delicious restaurants that are becoming dominant in Prince George’s downtown core. I’m not a fan of the franchise chains and look forward to original creations you can only taste in this part of the city. The Copper Pig is an excellent addition to what’s already happening down there.

With little to no advertising, the Copper Pig has been steadily packed. We tried making a reservation last weekend, but they were booked solid. While we were disappointed that we wouldn’t be indulging in that mouth watering BBQ, I was happy that they were doing so well. So when it came to booking this weekend’s reservation, I called 2 days prior, just to make sure we got a seat. I’m glad we did because the place was packed from wall to wall by 6PM.

You can get all sorts of BBQ at the Copper Pig, they have decadent ribs that are so juicy on the inside, yet has a great crisp on the outside … The beef brisket is second to none … and the pulled pork literally melts in your mouth! More of a chicken person? They’ve got that too and it doesn’t disappoint. And did I mention they have 3 different types of BBQ sauces that you can slather your meats with? Choose from hot, sweet or smokey! While this place sounds like a vegetarians worst nightmare, have no fear, as they also have a couple of amazing looking veggie friendly dishes as well.

It’s evident that this restaurant knows that a great BBQ dish isn’t complete without some famous sides. Be sure to try their house potato salad, green beans and corn bread. They also have wonderful fresh and crispy Shasta chips that come with a zingy mayo sauce for dipping.

So yeah, that’s a lot of food covered for only visiting their establishment twice! But last night, my boyfriend and I shared their $45 Frost Bites Dinner for 2, which is an amazing deal! You get a starter appy of their frost bites dip, which is warm cream cheese with roasted vegetables and herbs, served with bread and veggies. The dinner is their George Street BBQ Share Platter, which comes with a serving of BBQ pork ribs, beef briskets, smoked pulled pork, BBQ chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, shasta chips and corn bread! It was a huge meal that was worth every penny, plus it’s a great way to get acquainted with what’s on their menu!

If you’re not into eating and you just want to hang out with friends, they also have a wicked drink menu! They go above and beyond what normal restaurant bars serve. Check out their amazing creations, like the spicy BBQ cesar, found on their fusion list, or try one of their many different types of beers. My ultimate favourite part about the drink menu, is they have an entire section devoted to sour drinks! Be still, my beating heart! Try their TCP House Sour … it’s fresh lemon and lime, mixed with whiskey and fresh mint … and don’t forget about the equally tasty Cherry Raspberry Sour … it has huge pieces of liquor drunk fruit in it! If you’re looking for a bevy to warm up a cold winter night, they have an entire section of warm liquor drinks that pay homage to the other great downtown eateries named after Nancy O’s, The Hummus Brothers and more. Talk about supporting local business!

I also understand that the Copper Pig has an all you can eat BBQ lunch on Fridays from noon until 1pm for $16, (sign me up) where you can grab a seat at their 14′ Social Table and chow down while making new friends. I have also yet to try their $2.50 tastings sessions that happen Monday to Friday from 4:30 – 5:30, but will hopefully soon be all over that!

If you’re looking for something different on your next night out, I highly recommend the Copper Pig BBQ and Social House. You’ll want to go back, and you’ll pretty much keep thinking about them until you do!

The Copper Pig is located at 363 George Street, Prince George, BC. For reservations, call 250.596.2006

The Verdict Is In On Burt

My first blog on WordPress was about product testing for Burt’s Bees and BzzAgent. After a month of using the new hydration line, the campaign is now coming to a close. Here are my final thoughts on their product.

4 out 5 stars.

I enjoyed the time I got to spend getting to know some of the products in Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line. I was sent the Intense Hydration Cream Cleanser, along with the Intense Hydration Night Cream.

While some have commented that the scent of the Clary Sage wasn’t their favorite, I quite enjoyed it. It embodies the 99% natural ingredients. It helped add to the fresh feeling left on my face. Both the cleanser and cream were particularly thick, but you wouldn’t know it after applying it to your face. It did a great job of soaking into my skin and didn’t leave a greasy feeling in the slightest.

My first blog review talked about my first night with Burt … actually, my first morning after using the product. I live in Northern British Columbia, where dry skin runs rampant! I was hugely impressed that I woke up to a fresh face with zero dry flakes! However with any product, it is the test of time that is the huge tell all. My second and third mornings were not as spectacular. I woke with my usual dry bits on my face. My excitement for the product was slightly reducing. But still I carried on.

I could just be a product of my environment. I’ve lived in 4 different provinces and 6 different cities in my time and my current city is by far the driest! No matter what I do, I dry up! I think many of us up here, suffer the same thing.

I also think this product campaign would have done much better if we were additionally sent the Day Lotion. That’s when most of us are out and about and it’s probably the most important time that we want our skin looking good. If I got to try this product, along with the others that were sent, I’m going to assume that this would have been the perfect skin package!

I stopped diligently using both products in the evening together when the results started to decrease and slipped back into my regular skin routine, as I had to look my best for work. I did continue to use the products separately by using the cleanser during my morning showers and the cream during the night. I still wanted to give these products a fair shot.

Bottom line, I do think this is a good product. It does hydrate, it does leave your skin super soft and I like that it has natural ingredients. It’s also very affordable compared to it’s rivals on the market. I know that others have had incredible results with the Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration line, so I do encourage others to try … but I would probably also go for the day cream, just so you have 24/7 protection.

This was a great experience. I enjoyed testing and sharing Burt’s Bees with my friends! I’m going to continue to be a Burt’s Bees supporter! Image

I can relate to quite a few of these! The best were #22 … stealing streets signs (I’ve been there), #35 secretly critiquing the menu design (yup) and #48 dream of a day nobody makes a change to my design (oh gawd yes)
